Foreclosures are here. It is all over the news, some of you may be going through the foreclosure process personally or you know of someone that is experiencing the problem. There is hope the new government will help these families but as the time of this article creation, foreclosure notices and sale dates were still being sent and scheduled.
By becoming informed about the problems is the best way to recovery. The worst action you can do at this time is no action at all; doing nothing will take you nowhere with the foreclosure process. If you feel comfortable call your lender, explain your situation, negotiate, negotiate. The lender does not want your home, the lender is not in the real estate business, your lender is in the mortgage business and will negotiate with you to solve the problem.
But if you do not answer your phone, and you are not allowed to resume payments because you skipped a couple of monthly payments, you are not leaving any space for the lender to help you.
Remember the lender took your mortgage in good faith that you were able to pay the monthly payments.
If your foreclosure process has already started I strongly recommend that you seek professional help. A trained foreclosure negotiator will find holes in the lender case, but you need to do the first action, ask for help. You can turn the foreclosure process around.
